Professional Sanding and Staining Process
We began the project with dust-free sanding, a process that removes surface damage and prepares the wood for a flawless finish. The floor was then treated with Pallmann Pall-X 333 stain in Exotic Brown, a rich, warm colour that enhances the natural grain of the oak.
We applied Pallmann Magic Oil the following day to ensure long-lasting beauty and durability. This breathable matte oil finish not only brought out the depth of the wood but also provided a surface that’s easy to maintain and resistant to wear.
Addressing Beading Challenges
Sanding, Staining, and Oiling Beading
The client requested that we sand, stain, and oil the beading around the room to match the newly finished floor. Although we initially advised replacing the beading for efficiency, she insisted on refinishing the existing pieces.
This was our first time undertaking such a task, and it proved to be incredibly labour-intensive. Despite the added complexity and an extra day of work, we honoured the original quote, treating this as a valuable learning experience. The final result was seamless, with the beading perfectly matching the rich brown tones of the floor.
Final Touches and Client Delight
The finished oak floor was a stunning transformation, and the client was thrilled with the results. The deep tones of the stain, paired with the natural matte finish, enhanced the wood’s grain and created an elegant yet durable surface.

In this day and age good customer service is not always easy to find and we feel it is important that it be recognised. We recently had expensive new carpets fitted. In order to empty the bathroom bin, I have to walk through my bedroom. I managed to drop the bin and contents including tube of hair dye on the new carpet. With an appointment booked for you to sort it out for me, I dropped the lid to some make up, then tried to clean it up with vanish which bleached the carpet all around it. Needless to say you sorted it all out for me, good as new and domestic dispute averted. Your customer service was excellent before, before, during and after the job was done. Excellent prompt service to clean carpet and dry it out after a plumbing problem. Johnny even left his blower machine overnight for a couple of nights to dry out the carpet. Good to know there are still reliable people out there.

Fantastic, we didn't think Silver Lining Floor Care would get our carpets anywhere near as clean as they did (cream carpets + 2 kids = carpet hell) we have heavenly cream carpets again!
