The client contacted us as he was let down by another sanding company that simply did not turn up for the job. He had a cleaner booked in for Friday and new tenants were moving in on Saturday. It was over 70m2 of oak floors worn out. The floor was engineered oak and it was already sanded once before.
Can we do floor sanding again?
It didn’t have much of the wood veneer left. Using our Spider machine from Pallmann we managed to do minimal sanding and finish it so he could avoid replacing this floor and the expensive bill fo doing so.
Finishing wooden floors
Floor sanding must be completed with some floor finishing. It was a rental property, he didn’t want to stain the wood floor, just the best finish.
In this case, we advised going with an oil finish. Magic Oil Ergo – 2-component hard-wearing oil. The idea of the oil is that you never have to sand the floors again. If you do maintain it properly it can be just cleaned and re-oiled in the future. It is all about maintenance at the end of the day. We managed to pull off this job with very little time to work with. We put extra manpower into other jobs and we did this job in one day. That is another advantage of using Magic Oil Ergo. It dries in 4h and cures in 12h.
